Bob Ross Senior Center

The Bob Ross Senior Center, nestled in San Antonio’s Medical Center, opened its’ doors April of 2007. The first of its kind for the City of San Antonio, and the brain child of the City/County Joint Commission on Elderly Affairs, provides programs that assist San Antonio’s multi-generational senior community lead active, independent and engaged lives through comprehensive nutrition, wellness, and education services. This 26,000 square foot facility provides a daily lunch time meal, transportation services to eligible seniors living within a 5-mile radius of the center, and even offers an in-door pool. This Center, filled with diverse cultures, offers many unique activities that model its motto of “Seniors Gone Wild.” On any given day, you can experience classes such as Italian and English as a Second Language, Tai-Chi, Flamenco and Folkloric dancing, piano and voice. You can also find the standard set of activities – health and wellness, table games, arts & crafts, fine art – painting classes, puzzles, pool tables, ping pong, bingo, and more.
